Choose the version for your OS and extract the folder.
2. 1-Click launch
Double-click the app bundle (.app) on Mac or .bat launcher on Windows.
3. Paste link
The app auto-detects clipboard links and saves directly to Downloads.
Step-by-Step Launch Guide
Choose your operating system below to see the exact files and launch steps:
1. Extract ZIP Archive (Required!)
After downloading, right-click MediaDownloader-Windows.zip ➡️ select «Extract All...» into any folder.
⚠️ Important: Do not run directly inside the archive window — make sure to extract all files first.
2. Run Start_Media_Downloader.bat
Inside the extracted folder, double-click the launcher:
👉 Start_Media_Downloader.bat (or media_downloader_app.py).
All dependencies (Python, yt-dlp, FFmpeg) are hidden inside _internal, keeping your folder completely clutter-free.
3. App Icon & Automatic Desktop Shortcut
On first launch, the launcher automatically creates a 'Media Downloader' shortcut with the custom ascetic icon directly on your Windows Desktop! The custom app icon will also show up in the window titlebar and Windows taskbar.
4. Instant Media Downloads
Copy any video/audio URL (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Twitter/X). The app automatically detects clipboard links. Choose your format — your file is saved straight to your Downloads folder!
1. Unzip and open Media_Downloader.app
Double-click MediaDownloader-macOS.zip to unzip. Inside you will find:
👉 Media_Downloader.app (you can drag it to Applications or keep it on your Desktop).
2. Apple Gatekeeper Security Prompt
On first launch, macOS will show a prompt: 'Cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software' (standard for non-App Store open-source apps).
Simply click Done (or Cancel) on this prompt.
3. Open System Settings ➡️ Privacy & Security
Open System Settings (click Apple menu in the top-left corner ➡️ System Settings).
In the left sidebar, click 'Privacy & Security'.
4. Scroll down and click 'Open Anyway'
Scroll down the right pane to the 'Security' section.
You will see: 'Media_Downloader was blocked from use...'
Click the button: 👉 'Open Anyway' and confirm by clicking 'Open'.
🎉 This is only required ONCE! Future launches will open instantly with 1 click.
5. Seamless QuickTime-Ready Downloads
The app prompts for interface language once (English or Ukrainian). Simply copy any video link — it will be optimized for Apple QuickTime (H.264/AAC) and saved directly to your ~/Downloads folder.
